- Jet Airways recorded 19.5% at 779 thousand passengers
- Air India accounted for 18.3 % at 730 thousand passengers
- Kingfisher Airlines posted 20 % at 797 Thousand passengers.
- SpiceJet accounted for 12.6% at 502 Thousand passengers
- GoAir posted 5.7% at 226 Thousand passengers.
- IndiGo reported 16.4% at 656 Thousand passengers
Airlines’ Expansion Plan
- IndiGo Airlines is planning to take off to international markets starting from August this year.
- IndiGo has signed a record deal with Airbus to buy 180 A320 aircrafts from Airbus at a cost of whopping $15.6 billion, is planning to extend its services to the international markets
- Spicejet Airline has ordered 30 nos of Q400 NextGen turboprop aircraft to Canada based Bombardier Aerospace to cover tire-two and tire-three cities in India.
- Gary R. Scott, president for Bombardier Commercial Aircraft, said in the statement that India could buy about 600 commercial aircraft in the next 20 years. He expected India to take delivery of 600 commercial aircraft in the 20 to 149 seat category and he believed his optimized Q400 NextGen turboprop, CRJ Series regional jets and all-new CSeries aircraft are ideally suited to capture a sizeable market in India.
- Air India has registered a growth of 22% in its revenue at Rs 72500 million during the April to November 2010 period, showing a remarkable growth in the airline industry.
- Air India’s subsidiary, Air India Express, is mulling over operating low cost airlines.
- Air India Express is planning to induct more aircrafts. This addition will help increase the number of flights from 168 to over 200
- Lufthansa Group of airlines is planning for offering more flights from seven Indian destinations starting from October 29. This would provide better connectivity for Indian travellers to European countries.
